Local authorities say poor communication and logistical difficulties are hampering the response to deadly clashes in Tonj East County.

Officials reported that fighting between armed youth and local cattle camp defenders has killed at least 11 people in the Luachjang area.

Commissioner Machuei Bith Bol said the remote location of the attacks has made it difficult for security forces to reach the area quickly.

Authorities expect a more complete casualty report once communication improves and information from local leaders becomes available.
