Aisha Kabanda, the Member of Parliament representing Butambala district under the National Unity Platform, offered insights into the transformation of the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement (MK Movement) into the Patriotic League of Uganda. Speaking in a televised interview, Kabanda dissected the motivations behind this shift, portraying the MK Movement as an extension of the ruling NRM party’s endeavors to engage the youth.

With her previous alignment with the NRM, Kabanda highlighted the party’s acknowledgment of its diminishing influence among the youth. She suggested that promoting Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s involvement was a strategic response to this challenge. However, Kabanda expressed skepticism regarding Muhoozi’s ability to authentically represent youth interests.
