Suspended First Vice President Riek Machar and seven co-accused are facing multiple charges linked to a deadly 2025 attack on a military garrison.
Prosecutors allege the assault killed 257 soldiers from the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces and led to the destruction or seizure of military equipment worth about $58 million.
Machar is currently under house arrest, while the other suspects remain detained by the National Security Service in Juba.
The defendants face charges including murder, terrorism, treason, destruction of public property, and crimes against humanity.
